PALS Recertification

PALS certification typically expires two years after the date the exam is completed. Depending on the organization, practitioners are encouraged and usually required to keep their certifications current. The PALS manual will help you prepare for this course as our online recertification exam strictly adheres to the American Heart Association (AHA) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) testing material. The PALS recertification course is strictly an online test and has no required in-person skills evaluation to receive your provider card.

Once you have registered for the exam, our automated system will send you a confirmation email that contains a link to the exam. The recertification exam has no time limit and consists of 50 questions covering a wide array of topics including effective respiratory management as well as recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk of cardiopulmonary arrest. The average time our participants take to complete the exam is 90 minutes, though this varies per individual. To receive your recertification, all participants are required to receive a score of 80% or higher on the exam. If you do not pass the exam with a score of 80%, we will allow unlimited free exam retakes. Please allow ample time for each of these tests to be scored and results emailed to you.

After registering for the exam, you will receive a prompt email response confirming your purchase as well as a link granting instant access to the test twenty-four hours a day. The PALS certification test consists of fifty questions covering a wide range of subjects including effective respiratory management as well as recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk of cardiopulmonary arrest. Applicants are permitted to print out and review the exam if required. They can then return at a later time to complete the untimed exam. This option is ideal for those who may not be able to complete the exam in one sitting. Please be advised that the test cannot be saved to come back to at a later time. You must finish the exam in one sitting.

Within one business day of receiving a passing score of 80% or higher our staff will email your digital provider card containing your name, date you passed and the date of expiration. Our staff will simultaneously generate your physical provider card which will be promptly shipped to the address provided using the USPS shipping option you chose during registration.
